On 20 March 2012 ago, a British design and manufacturing company, Tom Dixon have launching one of their new lighting products as part of Luminosity for Milan Design Week at MOST. The new pendant lamps that shown there is the Etch Light Web, its shade was made of copper, come with an unique open structure, designed to cast atmospheric angular shadows when lit. Features an irregular pentagon shape is repeated 60 times across the body to create a total sphere. Formed from copper anodised aluminium through a process of digital photo-acid etching, an oversized LED bulb is suspended within the centre of Etch Web to make it the ultimate shadow play pendant. Besides Etch Web, Tom Dixon also creates another lights as a part of Etch family, the Etch Shade Lights that come in copper shade, stainless steel and brass. Etch Shade Lights is a digitally manufactured pendant light etched from metal. Made by employing an industrial process used to produce electronic parts, the method allows for detailed patterns to be cut directly onto the metal, creating a mass of intricate shadows when lit.
